English Ivey
Description:
English ivey has lobbed deltoid shaped leaves ussually with 3-5 lobes. They are palmate, simple and alternate on the stem with entire margins. The stems are vines that can climb up trees. The flowers are yellow and come in small clusters. The fruit are small black berries.
How to get rid of it?
Use a digging fork and pull up the roots of the plant. Many of the roots will be intertwined and may pull up as one big piece. ensure that the vines are cut to stop aerial growth,
What to replace it with?
Replace English Ivey with Virginia Creeper it is a bit denser than English Ivey but is still a great native alternative.
